Hi, I’m Claire

I grew up in Adelaide and moved to Sydney in 2020 to teach in primary schools. With over 10 years in education, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful one-to-one support and mentoring can be for children who need extra time, clarity, and confidence to thrive.

As a classroom teacher, I loved helping students break learning into manageable steps, especially those who struggled with confidence, learning differences, or feeling left behind. I understand this personally; as a child, I needed learning explained slowly, visually, and with patience. That experience shapes how I teach and mentor today through creating a calm, supportive space where children feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow at their own pace.

Shifting Gears…

In 2023, I became a certified Yoga Instructor and began teaching yoga in schools and studios around Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Through this work, I was regularly connecting with families who were seeking additional academic support for their children. This led me into tutoring neurodivergent primary school students after school, including children with ADHD, Autism, speech and language challenges, low self-esteem, and students who were falling behind the class average.

I began providing one-on-one tutoring to help bridge learning gaps across multiple curriculum areas. What I loved most was the opportunity to design personalised, engaging sessions tailored to each child’s needs, strengths, and interests. I found myself genuinely excited before every session, planning learning experiences that supported not just academic growth, but confidence, motivation, and a love of learning.

Today

Currently, I work closely with children and their families to provide personalised tutoring and mentoring that supports both learning and wellbeing. I understand that when a child is struggling, it’s not just about academics, it’s about confidence, emotional safety, and feeling truly understood.

My approach is calm, encouraging, and tailored to the whole child. I take the time to meet each student where they are, breaking learning into manageable steps and building confidence through trust, patience, and positive relationships. Through Confidence to Grow, my goal is to help children feel capable, supported, and proud of their progress, in the classroom and beyond.

Values

Resilience

Children develop resilience when they feel supported through challenges, not pushed through them. I help children learn that mistakes are part of learning and that effort, patience, and trying again lead to growth. Through gentle guidance and encouragement, they build the skills to manage frustration, bounce back from setbacks, and keep going with confidence.

Confidence

Confidence grows when children feel safe to try, make mistakes, and be themselves. I create a calm, encouraging environment where learning is broken into manageable steps, helping children build self-belief and trust in their own abilities.

Growth

Every child progresses at their own pace. Through personalised one-to-one support, I celebrate effort, curiosity, and small wins along the way, helping children develop skills, confidence, and a love of learning that lasts.
